I've got a list of questions for him this next visit lol. Most of it I already know the answers to but want clarification. Basically just things i've been catching myself worrying about. You can go to the internet for answers but really it doesn't give full comfort because the internet is loaded with different opinions.
some things i'll be asking my next appointment..
-What breast pain is normal? Every couple weeks i'll randomly get a sharp stabbing pain in my left breast. I've actually had this pain before getting pregnant and it's always in the same spot. I had mentioned during an Gyno appointment once and the doctor said it was nothing and she didn't notice any unusual lumps in the area. But the sharpness of it has gotten a little more painfull since getting pregnant. And it's just in the left boob.
-Tightening stomach muscles at night and my bodies natural reaction to stretch? Yea I pretty much already know this is more than likely Braxton Hicks but I still want clarification on that.
-Ligaments pains? Whats normal and whats not. I've been getting pains that i've been chalking upto ligaments.
-Baby movements? At this stage is there any sense of normalcy in the frequency of movements I should be feeling?
-the brown spotting I had the other day.
-Charlie horses in my calves while i'm sleeping and restless legs randomly in the night and when i try to fall asleep?
I'm sure i'll add to it but this doc will probably get annoyed by me lol.

Be careful what you wish for
Okay today I was the typical worried pregnant mommy. Mannix was very chill today and wasn't kicking after breakfast like he usualy does. He continued this chill manner for most of the day to the point where I started worrying. Even though deep down I know this happens. I guess worrying about it is unavoidable even when your aware of it lol.
Anywho so I started doing things to get him moving. Drinking ice water, drinking OJ, eating a popsicle, tapping my belly, laying on my left side. Yup the OJ got a very slight kick out of him but that was it. He was just determined to be chill. So by the evening I finally gave up. Go figure, after eating spaghetti he's been kicking alot now lol. He even did a forceful stretch lol. He pushed down on my cervix and push up right beneath my ribs. that's the furthest I've felt any kind of movement up there. It was very forcefully because my belly pushed out a little lol.
After this quiet day he's just all over in the belly. I kicks or punches to the top left, to the top right, on my cervix, to the left of my belly button. I guess this is my wake-up call that I really do have to not worry so much during the quiet days.
So be careful what you wish for. I have a feeling I won't be falling asleep anytime soon because he's a wild thing now.

Birth 'dream' plan and Latest Q&A *pic*
I say 'Dream' because I know things can happen in delivery that doesn't allow you to follow all the rules you had planned for your birth plan.
I still have lots to go in thinking about this. Mostly because I don't even know what to consider. But I will start with things I think i'd want done during labor and delivery.
-Yes, I am for the epidural! I would like to hold out as long as possible before receiving it but this can only be decided really once i'm in labor. If the contractions just become to much then i'll do it but I also know labor can go on for many hours to almost a day or 2. The epidural however does not. Though I am also aware that you can hold off on it and then BAM it's to late for it. So it's a play by ear kind of thing but I will not refuse it.
- No giving a nookie or bottle to my baby! Unless something serious occurs that makes me or baby unable to feed together, I want to breastfeed shortly after the baby is born. And do as much of it as possible until they force me to rest and bring the baby to the nursery. I want to avoid them using a bottle on him in the hospital unless utterly necessary. If they do I would rather pump the milk than go formula. Especialy in the beginning because I don't want him having any nipple or feeding confusion.
- Would I allow forceps or the vacuum? This is still in the air. They were created to assist the mother when she's having difficulty but both still freak me out. I know one of my nephews was born with help from the vacuum. His head was cone shaped for quite a bit afterwards. I know this doesn't affect anything but it still freaks me out lol.
- Who do I want in the room. Well since my mom isn't planning to come till Thanksgiving then I guess just Rob and I :D
- I would like to stick to vaginal delivery but understand sometimes there are complications that require c-sections. I will hear the doctors out before fully deciding if they ask me.
- how would I like my surroundings? Not quite sure. I'll have to give that some thought. I get easily annoyed by things when i'm not feeling well so i'd like to say i'd like music or the hubs to give me massages but I tend to go into 'don't touch me!' mode when i'm not feeling good. I would probably want limited nurses until they are necessary. Usually I allow trainee's to be in my appointments if they ask (have done so for a few appointments before, in fact just had one at my first visit with my OB). However, i'm not sure how much i'll be for that if they ask during labor.
-Positions. If I'm able I would like to try and walk around. Maybe use a birthing ball on occasion. I have read that simply laying in the bed does not fully help the baby on it's way.
-Fetal monitoring? I have to look into this. I guess there's a few ways it's done and some women refuse them so I need to see if their's pro's or cons. But I would probably be ok with regular monitoring.
-Episiotomy? Or lord. that freaks me out. but I would probably ok it if the doctor felt it was necessary. But I would want local anesthetic before doing it (though I hear sometimes it doesn't kick in fast enough).
I've got plenty more to think about and I may change my mind on some of my choices the closer I come to the day and even once i'm in labor.
How are you feeling? Can't complain to much. Starting to feel some discomforts now though. Braxton hicks have started. I get them mostly at night. They don't hurt but I wake up to tightening stomach muscles sometimes. Usually lasts less than a minute and rarely fully wakes me up. My back aches more easily with certain positions so I try my best not to sit/lay/or walk for long periods at a time. I try to mix it up.
How is your mood? starting to get easily emotional. Not like first trimester where it was cranky, though I do have my easily cranky moments. But now it's more the weepies.
Weight Check-in: I'm gaining now. Last I weighed myself 2 days ago I was 138. I try to remind myself that's a good sign lol. I asked the hubs if it seemed like my chin was filling in a little more and he said 'maybe a little'. Turd. Wrong answer!
Have you felt the baby? pretty regularly now. Sometimes more than others. He recently changed position from where he was kicking near my belly button to now he's kicking my lower uterus and left side. Let me tell you..it's a funky feeling have someone punch your inside.
Latest craving? Not really anything that i'm super craving. I have been into PBJ's lately but that's because it's a quick fix food. Been having a little bit of a sweet tooth as well and eating candy again. I try not to eat to much and give Rob the rest of the bag before I finish them off. I made greek pasta for the 2nd time in a few weeks. Not sure if that's really a craving though. It's just been sounding good and it doesn't require much cooking lol
Any food aversion? No, still none that i'm aware of.
How's the hubby doing? Good. He's back to his cycling/gaming self. No pregnancy induced arguments lol.

23 weeks. Belly isn't much different from my last shot but it seems to be a little more pointy by the belly button it's filling out at the top more.
How many weeks? 23 weeks

And it's back
..The brown spotting.
Yup. I pretty much went into mini panic mode when I first noticed it. I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and there it was. It wasn't much and it seemed to have stopped this morning but it was still the initial flash back of all the other issues I had in the beginning of pregnancy from the vanished twin.
I went back to bed to sleep it off thinking laying down and sleeping is my best bet. There really is no need to call the doctor over a tiny bit of brown spotting unless it's persistant or turns red. So I tried reminding myself that sometimes the brown spotting just happens.
Of course then I had this crazy dream to follow my mini panic. In the dream I started bleeding and then out popped this little baby. But it was a freakin' figurine baby on a little plaque. I was so confused. I woke up so confused lol.
So for now i'm trying not to worry about it. I don't see the doctor until next week. I'm just going to bum around the house today. The hubs and I had plans to go upto Mt. Lemmon for the holiday weekend to enjoy the scenery but then this happened and we both thought it best to just relax and not aggrivate the incident. Oh well. Maybe next weekend...It's our anniversary weekend after all :p
Oh and because i'm retardo and just can't stop this freakin' addiction I ended up buying some WAHM diapers. 2 smalls and one medium. Plan to use them as overnights. I couldn't resist as her prices are excellently reasonable. I think some of her diapers are repurposed fabrics.

Changes
Well as of lately i've been noticing some changes. Some i've already complained about. Like the different body aches. Which as the week progresses my back has been aching a bit more. Up into the top of my back now too. Probably poor posture. I'm going to see if we can squeeze out some cash for a massage lol
For starters my appetite has started to increase. I was waiting for this day. Everybody talked about it. I thought 'eh, maybe i'll get out of it'. Yea I don't think there's a way to get out of it lol. It's inevitable. And when i do eat I can eat A LOT but then i feel SOOOO full! I'm starting to run out of room. I'm afraid what it's going to be like in the coming months!
With increased eating comes a growing baby and a growing mommy. I am up to 138lbs now. Pre-pregnancy I was between 125 and 129. So I'm almost up 10lbs. It's starting to come on faster! Last time I weighed myself I was 132 which was still a normal weight while I was living in Germany.
My mood. I've realized i'm becoming more impulsive/obsessive. I want something and I have to have it now. Mainly just with baby necessities. I don't know why i'm getting like this because we've got plenty of time and the stuff we do have at the moment is enough to get us by. But I found myself asking the hubs when he was on the phone with his mom when people were going to start sending us stuff. It didn't hit me until a few hours later that it probably sounded greedy of me. I'm not a greedy person but I have this obsession of getting everything in the nursery filled and done with! It's to early for nesting! I'm not even in the 3rd trimester!
Other mood changes..i'm finding that i'm starting to get my needy self back again. This might be a good thing as the hubs had a really tough time the first trimester when I was in 'don't touch me, don't hug me, just give me my space' mode. It was just so sudden and drastic and after 7 1/2yrs of having clingy me around the change put him so on edge. But with this clingly me again comes teary me. The moods come out at different times from each other but shit I'm not starting to cry a lot easier with my TV shows. I was so proud of the fact I hadn't turned into one of those women who sit with tissues while watching their shows. Yea...apparently that's unavoidable as well. It just started the last couple days too.
Today's incident, Rob was watching the latest SNL where one of the co-stars was getting her goodbyes. It sucks she's leaving but man I had to look away because I started tearing up! Really? I mean it's sad and all, Self, But really she's not dieing or anything. Sheesh.
And my sleeping has become so erratic. One night i'll sleep like a freakin' baby and only get up once to go to the bathroom. Those nights are heaven. Then there's the nights where i'm up every hours feeling so restless. And then waking up at 4 or 5 and being up for the day...what the heck is that?? That's way to early!
So yes. Those are the sudden changes in me. Sudden as in starting to happen the last week or 2. I'm kind of afraid of what's to come next....

Prefold beginning
The start of my prefolds. Right now i'm making Infant sizes. So far i'm just cutting and pinning so when I pull the sewing machine out I can just go. I do have remnants from the receiving blankets (off to the right) so i'll be using them as wipes.
When I cut the initial outer layer I didn't like the curved corners so I trimmed those edges off before cutting my exact piece out.
I'm not sure if my sewing machine has a serger on it. It looks like it's got one stitch similar on it but i may have to play around with the stitches on a scrap piece of fabric first to see how it turns out before doing it on my prefolds.
Not sure if I posted this other prefold method I found. But this is the one i'm going with right now. The pictures are easier to follow lol
Her larger size however, doesn't seem like it'll work with receiving blankets. The main fabric piece is slightly larger.
Wipe solution recipes
I started cutting fabric up for the prefolds. My first round turned out to be a bust because I looked at my measuring/cutting board wrong. So I was off by an inch or so. I will still make that prefold and maybe use it as a burp cloth.
With the remaining boy flannel I had I was going to make cloth wipes with. Now most CD moms prefer just water and the rag and that works well for them. They want to stay away from any using any unnecessary products on babies bum. Understandable. But there are also a bunch of homemade recipes out there that you can use as well. This ensures babies bottom is thoroughly cleaned between changes. Especially the poo blow out days.
Here are a few recipes I found that sounded simple enough for me and that I would be willing to try. It seems Tea Tree Oil is a big use with babies. Some put a drop or 2 on the cloth diaper after changing and in the cloth wipe solution. I personaly keep some on hand for if my earrings get infected (which if you follow my other blog it only took 2 applications and the infection cleared up).
Now a lot of the video's seem to use wipe warmers and keep their diapers moist. I honestly don't feel like investing in one of those. You can't bring it with you on the go anyways so your wipes aren't going to be nice and toasty when your on errands. So i'm not showing any of those videos. Plus I don't think I like the idea of keeping them soaking wet until you use them. My mother always drilled in my mind that wet items leaves ground for mildew/mold/bacteria. Ok so i'm sure the same could be said for wet wipes lol. Though I am sure those solutions can be used in spritz or spray bottles as well. Either way the video's i'll be posting are for solutions where the moms spray or squirt on the cloth during the change.
